Inst-AI-nt Snap stores all data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information.

Data Storage

All clips, settings, research projects, and usage data are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage APIs. Nothing is sent to our servers because we don't have any.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• No personal information
• No browsing history
• No analytics or tracking
• No cookies
• No telemetry
• No usage statistics sent externally

Third-Party Services

The extension connects to external services ONLY when you explicitly configure them:

• AI Summarization (optional): If you add an API key for OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini, your clip text is sent to that provider's API for summarization. This is initiated by you, uses your own API key, and is subject to that provider's privacy policy.
• License Validation (optional): If you activate a Pro license key, the key is validated locally on your device. No server calls are made for license checks. Your purchase is handled through Ko-fi's platform, subject to their privacy policy.

Permissions Explained

• activeTab / tabs: Required to capture content from the page you're viewing
• storage / unlimitedStorage: Stores your clips and settings locally
• downloads: Saves exported files to your computer
• contextMenus: Adds right-click capture options
• scripting: Injects the content extraction script into pages
• webNavigation / alarms: Powers the auto-capture feature
• notifications: Shows limit-reached alerts

Data Deletion

Uninstalling the extension permanently deletes all stored data. You can also manually clear all clips from Settings at any time.

Changes

If this policy changes, the update will be noted here with a new date.
