🍪 CrumbCleaner — Privacy Policy
Short version: we don't collect anything. Your crumbs, your business.
What we access
- Cookies: We read and delete browser cookies based on your rules. That's the whole point.
- Tab URLs: We look at which domains are open (just the domain, not the full URL) so we know when it's safe to sweep.
- Local storage: Your settings, whitelist, and stats live on your device in Chrome's extension storage.
What we send externally
Nothing. CrumbCleaner:
- Doesn't collect personal info
- Doesn't track browsing history
- Doesn't phone home to any server
- Doesn't use analytics or telemetry
- Doesn't show ads
License validation
If you go Pro, your license key is validated locally on your device using a checksum. No network request, no server call, no data sent anywhere. The key never leaves your browser.
Third-party services
Where your data lives
Everything is stored locally via Chrome's chrome.storage.local and chrome.storage.session APIs. It never leaves your machine. Uninstall the extension and it's gone.
Why these permissions
- cookies: Core feature — reading and deleting cookies
- tabs: Knowing which sites are open so we don't delete active cookies
- storage: Saving your settings locally
- alarms: Scheduling timed cleanups and deletion delays
- notifications: Telling you when cookies get swept
- host_permissions (all URLs): Accessing cookies from any site you visit
Kids
Not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect anything from anyone, let alone minors.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version shows up here. Keep using the extension = you're cool with it.
